“Photoville Festival 2025” reminder for submissions

“Photoville Festival 2025” reminder for submissions:

L817 will help identify possible members to feature and would need to submit some examples of each candidate’s work to the Photoville team for selection and ultimately curation.

How we will do this:

  • L817 will collect the artwork (shareable example sizes please), email examples and/or links to folder: dwelch@local817.com

  • L817 will then give each candidate’s folder a random number to assure anonymity

  • The renamed folder will be shared with L817 members Malaika Johnson and Sarah Crofts for final selection

  • Must receive submissions by February 28th, 2025

Ideal criteria would be:

  • Shareable examples of work (email-friendly, less than 2000 pixels wide), larger originals if requested (ideal up to 4000 pixels wide or greater)

  • Recognizable Made in New York Productions and/or city owed property

  • Represents diverse backgrounds

  • And/or diverse neighborhoods within NYC

  • Ability to participate in a public educational panel opening day June 7 in Dumbo to discuss their work and career as a locations department worker

The exhibition would feature our members and Photoville would pay an artist’s stipend as well as support the development, curation, printing, installation and final exhibition. The exhibition would be featured outdoors in a selected park.
