Checked this out and I'm not eligible at this time....
Here's the Catch - 22s
For STD:
•First off to get the poilicy you need to be working as of the policy effective date. (June 1)
• Next you need to have the union clarify if we are Full or Part Time employees. My guess is if you are a weekly you are full time but (Dan or David car you clarify) .
This full time/part time also makes a big deal as to how much you can apply for. (250 vrs 800 weekly for SDL )
•Now when a show ends you need to notify the insurance comapany to note in the files that you are out of work but still paying union dues. You then get 6 months to find your next job which you also must notify them. There also are clauses for FML, furlough and strikes.
For the LTD:
•The payout is the same (up to $2500 a month) but you need to provide the last 3 months of paystubs and your previous years W2 to get you 60% of your average wages.
As an aside; and for what it's worth, disablity is hard to get in our buisness. I had disability (from another carrier) at one point when I broke my leg and got paid however the previous year I had taken time off to deal with personal business and ended up having to give back money they said I was not entited to.
Hopefully we will all be working and eligible in the near future to consider if this is right for you.
