Premium Assistance for Entertainment Industry Employees
The COBRA Premium Assistance Program for Entertainment Industry Employees was created to help eligible entertainment industry employees maintain health insurance during episodic employment.
Participants can receive assistance equal to 75% of their COBRA premiums, for up to 12 months in a 5 year period.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in this program, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a member of an entertainment industry union and a resident of New York State;
you must be eligible for, or already covered by COBRA through an entertainment industry union plan;
you must not already be receiving premium assistance through a Department of Health program;
you must not be eligible for Medicare;
you must not be eligible for employer sponsored coverage; and
you must meet the household income limitation: please select the link above for details.
Once enrolled, you will lose eligibility for the premium subsidy if:
your COBRA coverage ends;
you move out of New York State;
you become eligible for Medicare; or
you become eligible for employer insurance.
