A Teamster Who Runs: NYC Marathon Charity Fundraising
Hello everyone!
As some of you may know, I’ve picked up running as a hobby—something that started last year when work slowed down. I’m not exactly sure what sparked it, but someone once mentioned that people often start running in their 30s, and I guess I’m living proof of that!
This year, I’m excited to share that I’ll be running the NYC Marathon for a cause that’s close to my heart. I’ll be running in support of BRC (Bowery Residents' Committee), a nonprofit organization that helps the homeless community. I’ve volunteered with them from time to time and have seen firsthand the amazing work they do, from providing shelter and transportation to assisting with housing and offering essential resources like clothing. While I’m not usually a big charity person, BRC is an exception because of the real, tangible impact they have.
Now, back to running! Over the past year, I’ve participated in several races, including the Brooklyn Mile, the Philadelphia Half Marathon, the NYRR Midnight Run on New Year's Eve, and more recently, the Brooklyn Half Marathon. Running has become a big part of my life, and I’m thrilled to be able to use it as a way to give back.
My goal is to raise $3,000 for BRC, and I’d really appreciate your support. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you’d like to donate, please use the link below.
