Brothers and Sisters,

Local 817 is working with a documentarian to celebrate its 100^th year and preserve the history of our Local. We are collecting; photographs, videos, documents, and other memorabilia that tell the story of our members and our union.

If you were part of the Commercial Locations and/or TV/Theatrical Locations organizing drive, we would especially appreciate any materials you have from that time, including:

• Any photos, videos, or documents that capture Local 817's history

• Early organizing meetings

• Our first Labor Day Parade

• Union meetings and events

• Photoville and other events and panels

• Philanthropic and community service efforts, including:

  • COVID-19 GNYHA Hospital Annex surge bedding project

  • COVID-19 Feed the Frontline drive

  • Stockings with Care toy drives

  • Backpacks with Care school supply drives

• Written stories or information that you think is impactful

• Photos of members working is encouraged

Only submit materials if you are comfortable including them in the documentary. While we cannot guarantee what will make the final cuts, your submissions will be available for viewing at the end of the year hosted on our website as a gallery and video collection.
