Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We would like to remind you of the importance of contributing to our Union's Political Action Committee, The Local 817 PAC Fund. Maintaining a well-funded PAC is critical in our ability to support politicians that have our members' best interests in mind. Now more than ever, many of the decisions that shape our industry are made in the political arena. Most importantly, policies around state film and television tax credits.

To put it simply, when politicians debate tax credit programs, they are deciding whether or not our members will have jobs. The Local 817 PAC exists so that the voices of our members are heard in those conversations. Our PAC helps us support politicians and initiatives that support Teamsters. We will continue to support any elected official or candidate that supports and understands the importance of strong film and television production incentives, policies that keep work in our jurisdiction, and safeguards that protect workers' rights in the face of rapidly evolving technology.

Our PAC is funded entirely through voluntary contributions from our members, their families, and friends. Unfortunately, last year we only received 173 contributions to our PAC. That is less than 10% membership participation. We must do better. Even modest contributions, when combined across our membership, add up and will allow us to continue to advocate effectively for policies that protect our jobs, strengthen our industry, and ensure that the next generation of 817 Teamsters can build lasting careers.

If you have not already done so, please consider contributing for calendar year 2026. The maximum contribution is $99.00 per individual, checks or money orders should be made out to the Teamsters
